PLR’s Phil named CFO of the Year at National MAT Awards
PLR Advisory are delighted that to share that our very own CEO, Phil Reynolds, has been named CFO of the Year at the prestigious National MAT Awards.
Alongside being the CEO of PLR Advisory, Phil acts as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a multi-academy trust in Kent on a part-time basis. This role enables Phil to see the academies and education sector through the eyes and experiences of being a CFO, enabling him to live the challenges that so many of our clients experience on a day-to-day basis.
Phil, on collecting the award, said: “I genuinely did not expect to win this award - being shortlisted was an honour in itself! Budget season is once again around the corner and it will prove to be as challenging as ever this year. I see this award as one I am accepting on behalf of all CFOs I work with, as they all do such a fantastic job in challenging circumstances. They are the bedrock to a well-run multi-academy trust. The education landscape continues to be challenging, and PLR's clients can take comfort from this award that they are being advised and supported by someone who understands their perspective."
Matthew Burton, of Educating Yorkshire fame, hosted the awards and also acknowledged the fantastic job CFOs perform in their academy trusts.
PLR Advisory were also shortlisted in the Company of the Year and Rising Company categories.
The National MAT Awards are organised by Multi Academy Trust Association (MATA). The awards, which were hosted by Matthew Burton from Channel 4's Educating Yorkshire, took place on 6 March 2025 at Leonardo Royal Hotel, Milton Keynes.
